3sixteen has collaborated with Gloverall, the iconic British supplier of postwar duffle coats, to create one of the most stunning classic outerwear pieces we've ever seen. This coat offers both generosity and warmth, making it the perfect antidote to the harsh winter elements of cold wind and rain. If the coat exudes style and warmth like a crackling fire, it's all thanks to its long-length woollen construction, rain-protecting hood, striking black and navy color combination, and distinctive black wooden toggles that bring the piece together.
Both brands selected the iconic "Monty" style for this collaboration, a design that has been Gloverall's signature look since 1951. Named after the renowned wartime commander Field Marshal Montgomery, the Monty duffle coat has become a classic British design.
It boasts superb heavyweight Italian wool fabric, spacious square pockets, buffalo horn toggles, a hood, and comfortable satin-lined sleeves. The oversized fit allows for layering underneath, ensuring warmth from head to hem. Hood snaps, throat latches, and wrist straps from the original Gloverall version have been omitted for a minimalist appearance. Additionally, the iconic fixed shoulder cape has been redesigned with a diamond pattern for an enhanced look.
Please note that this coat is intentionally designed to be oversized. We recommend sticking with your standard American size, but if you prefer a less oversized fit, you may want to consider sizing down.
Founded in LA by Johan Lam and Andrew Chen over a decade ago, 3sixteen's philosophy is evident in pieces they've developed since 2008: shirts, jackets, basics and accessories all take cues in form and function from their jeans. Fabrics and trims are always chosen for their capacity to develop character with time. 3sixteen aim is that, with diligent wear, the customers are rewarded with something well-aged, never "old."
